Timeline: March 2025 to Present
Aims to solve drainage problems at the Sanctuary using a tile drain system.
The team will use soil surveying and groundwater modeling to design and test a system, creating a sustainable long-term solution that protects the health of the animals and local environment. Is currently in the stages of preparing to collect soil samples and acquiring a permit from King County.
Progress Summary
SP25: Formed team, created advertising material for potential new members and sponsors, reviewed possible drainage solutions, investigated permitting, and estimated costs
AU25: Grew team in size, splitting into testing, design, and logistics sub-teams. Conducted site visits to weigh pros and cons to different solution elements, conducted soil tests.
Current and Future Objectives
Perform data analysis on collected data, model groundwater flow with digital simulation software. Design CAD model and present to sanctuary.
