Timeline: September 2024 to Present
Design and implement pit latrines for Nsala Primary School.
Their current infrastructure has been damaged by hurricanes and severe weather. We are planning on implementing a total of 12 pit latrines. Currently, we are working on our first implementation and planning on traveling this summer.
Progress Summary
AUT24: Worked with freshwater to get the project approved. Had a project kickoff call with EWD and received their approval.
WI25-SP25: Worked to complete the Pre-trip plan and the project safety plan. Researched the community and area to get a better understanding of the scope of the project. Determined what type of soil tests we would need to begin designing the latrines
SUM25: Got the results from our test
AUT25: Began calculations and worked with our team to begin using CAD to design the pit latrines
WIN26: Submitting our designs and waiting for feedback from EWB
Current and Future Objectives
Currently, we are finalizing our designs for our first planned implementation with EWB and planning to travel to Malawi this summer.
