Timeline: Spring 2024 to Present
This project collaborates with Positive Action for Haiti (PAH) and their Children’s Home and Environmental Education facility through various projects as the facility is slowly being constructed.
The facility houses around 20 children and is focused on providing environmental education to the children and community. The collaboration between EWB and PAH involves EWB designing various elements of the facility that will be implemented by PAH at the facility.
Progress Summary
SP25: Completed design for composting toilet designs for child dormitory.
SP25: Completed design for rainwater collection and storage system for admin and student dormitories to provide supplementary water supply for the facility gardens.
Current and Future Objectives
Currently focused on expanding the rainwater collection system to the planned community building and adjusting the previous system based on implementation timelines, as well as designing an elevated walkway between the buildings of the facility. In the future, we will be working on designing a system to dispose of greywater from staff bathrooms, along with various small projects, including a goat enclosure and chicken coop.
